In March the Europe Parliament agreed on drastic cuts to plastic pollution of environment. All single- use cutlery, cotton buds, straws and stirrers to be banned from 2021 in EU.

According to the European Commission, more than 80% of marine litter is plastics. The products covered by these restrictions constitute 70% of all marine litter items.
This decision is a combination of arrangements, decrease, ban, and new labelling on products that easily being thrown on the street, and information about the impact all plastic has on our planet.
The purpose is to prevent and decrease some of the plastic products impact in our environment.

Chalmers Konferens & Restauranger bring this with into our next step to a better sustainable environment and planet. We will, step by step, reduce all our single -use products within our company until 2021.

Our first move begins in August, all single-use products we use for warm food in our Express restaurants will be exchanged to products made of fossil free and biodegradable material. This occurs in all our restaurant units that serve warm food as Take away food.

In order to reduce the number of single- use cutlery we give all our guests the opportunity to buy a “spork” at all our Express restaurants. These are made of fossil free biodegradable material and can be reused again and again.
